Another fun Sunday at one of our favorite hang outs,
Mulligans Raw Bar & Grille. Surrounded by good friends and great food, we laughed so much my face hurt.

Aaron, our awesome bartender, showed off his latest tattoo while making the best drinks in the Outer Banks. Five-dollar dozen oysters and half-priced apps after 5 p.m. kept us there later than we planed. As usual, unusual subjects popped up, and this day was no exception. One of the more repeatable ones was how some -- actually most -- people look better with their clothes on as opposed to off. Jim, sitting next to me, said he had been to a nudist colony only once, to bury his brother who died in a car accident while living at a nudist colony in Florida and working at Disney. Well...this brought all kinds of thoughts to mind. Was it sad his brother died, funny that he lived at a nudist colony, or worrisome that he worked at Disney?
Jim went on to set the scene: As a super-large naked woman paddled by in a kayak. The naked minister of the non-denominational service gave a bizarre eulogy. After the funeral, he and his niece were seated and as naked friends of his brother walked by to give their condolences, Jim said he and his niece got quite an eye full -- if you know what I mean.
"Yes," he said. "People
do look better with clothes on!"
Ya know, you can't make this stuff up!
More on the Outer Banks to come as we wait for the
Downeast Rover to finish up its yearly maintenance to begin its 2011 sailing season beginning in April.
